UK Tech Investment Weekly Episode 26

UK Tech Investment Round-Up takes place every Monday at 12 pm BST on Clubhouse, hosted by Manoj Ranaweera of Deal Lite (a product of Techcelerate) with co-hosts, Andrew Threlfall of Malinko (Techcelerate’s largest tech company, which makes scheduling community nursing a walk in the park for the NHS) and Stewart Townsend, a SaaS Channel Specialist who helped scale Zendesk, DataSift and many others.

1. Alan Timothy – Bubo.AI (Seed Follow On)

Alan is the CEO of Bubo.AI, which recently secured £500k Seed Follow On investment led by Mercia.

Alan, since 1997, has founded and sold three technology/data businesses, achieved ISO 9001 and 27001 accreditations and established distribution businesses in the USA, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He has been awarded Fellowships from Teesside University and National Innovation Centre for Data (Newcastle University)..

Bubo.AI uses artificial intelligence (AI) to track customer behaviour and recommend the optimum price based on what the customer is willing to pay and what the vendor is willing to accept. It is designed for any business with complex pricing models, such as distributors and merchants.

2. Alex Brees – un:hurd (Seed)

Alex is the CEO and Founder of un:hurd, which recently secured £250k Seed investment.

Alex has a music analytics and sales background. He founded BreesBox / Pikaso Events in 2014 and worked as the COO at Keakie,a streaming platform hosting curated DJ series, radio shows and podcasts. 

Un:hurd s an artist management and marketing insights business that creates marketing insight from artists data, allowing artists to run data-driven music marketing campaigns across the digital landscape.

3. Yasin Alimam – Hotpatch (Seed)

Yasin is the Founder of Hotpatch, which secured £110k Seed investment.

Yasin has several years of experience in infrastructure principal investing, working at Dalmore Capital and he is also an Investment Executive at Fair Market Value Capital Partners. 

Hotpatch is a workspace marketplace for all professionals including no-collar professionals that require flexible access to work space, and helps business owners who are looking to make sure they are getting the best use out of their real estate.

4. Tim Dew – Gingr Tech (Series A)

Tim is the Founding Director of Gingr Tech, which secured Series A investment from Philip and Andrew Oliver.

Tim has been the Founding Partner of Mount Parnassus that helps sell businesses and provides business transformation advice to help improve performance, for over 14 years and the Founding Director at CTA Global, an action-based system for business planning that helps leaders.

Games Without Frontiers t/a Gingr Tech is a leading provider of online training solutions. The company has built a highly adaptive platform (ROCKET) that allows new competitively priced games to be produced quickly depending on the needs of the client.

    Great to hear from fellow entrepreneurs, it is a lonely life as a founder, this type of event and platform is much needed to raise awareness on the good news stories from founders and those willing to back the next generation.
