Deal Lite UK Tech Investment Weekly takes place every Monday at 12 pm UK time on Clubhouse, hosted by Manoj Ranaweera of Deal Lite (a product of Techcelerate) with co-hosts, Andrew Threlfall of Malinko (Techcelerate’s largest tech company, which makes scheduling community nursing a walk in the park for the NHS) and Stewart Townsend, a SaaS Channel Specialist who helps Techcelerate Member Companies scale through channel partnerships.

Speakers

1. Chris Mansfield – GoodCourse (Pre-Seed)

Chris is the Co-founder of GoodCourse, which recently secured £570k Pre-Seed investment led by RLC Ventures and RTP Capital.

Chris has a Business Development background and has worked at M&G Investments,Tessian and Futr. Chris and his co-founder started GoodCourse with the goal to bring every employee into the learning ecosystem.

GD Course (t/a GoodCourse) is the text message micro learning platform built for non-desk workers. L&D leaders use GoodCourse to train and upskill non-desk workers in an accessible, measurable, and cost-effective way, all for the first time.

2. Paul Patras – Net AI (Pre-Seed)

Paul is the Co-founder and CEO of Net AI, which recently secured £750k Pre-Seed investment led by Techstart Ventures.

Paul has been a Reader/Associate Professor in the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh for over 8yrs, where he leads the Mobile Intelligence Lab and the Informatics Internet of Things research programme. He focuses on problems related to artificial intelligence in mobile networks, performance optimisation, security and privacy.

Net AI Tech aims to become the market leader in analysing traffic across 5G mobile networks, revolutionizing the management of software-based mobile infrastructure and enabling mobile network operators (MNOs) to meet stringent customer requirements in a cost-effective manner.

3. Layla Sargent – The Seam (Pre-Seed)

Layla is the Founder and CEO at The Seam, which secured £250k Pre-Seed investment led by Jenson Funding Partners.

Layla was a Travel Journalist for over 5yrs and has over 10yrs of experience in Sales managerial roles. She founded SUPA in 2017 and Congress London in 2016, a career development and mentoring network for women in London. Layla uses the combined power of community and technology to improve accessibility of clothes alterations and repair services for people and brands, at scale.

TheSeamUK empowers wearers to have a more personalised and purposeful connection with their wardrobes.Their online platform allows wearers to browse and connect with over 700+ Makers to find the right specialist and book a service. 

4. Hugh Gibbs – SearchLand (Seed)

Hugh is the Co-founder at SearchLand, which secured £200k Seed investment.

Hugh worked in both private and public sector planning roles alongside running his own land finding business. He worked at Tunbridge Wells Borough Council and Meridian GIS as Planning Policy GIS Officer. After observing a lack of affordable, data-driven site finding resources, he and the co-founder team set about creating their own fairly priced solution. 

SearchLand helps developers, site sourcing teams and investors to streamline their workflow and maximise their portfolio. The platform makes it easy to sift through vast amounts of data, allowing users to quickly establish who owns a piece of land or property, discover the prices paid, analyse planning applications, and much, much more.
