Deal Lite UK Tech Investment Weekly takes place every Monday at 12 pm UK time on Clubhouse, hosted by Manoj Ranaweera of Deal Lite (a product of Techcelerate) with co-hosts, Andrew Threlfall of Malinko (Techcelerate’s largest tech company, which makes scheduling community nursing a walk in the park for the NHS) and Stewart Townsend, a SaaS Channel Specialist who helps Techcelerate Member Companies scale through channel partnerships.

Speakers

1. Cindy van Niekerk – Umazi (Pre-Seed)

Cindy is the Founder and CEO of Umazi, which recently secured £730k Pre-Seed investment led by Innovate UK and Founders Factory.

Cindy has over 10 year’s experience on the front lines of large-scale IT-regulatory projects with global financial institutions such as JP Morgan, HSBC, Barclays, Deutsche Bank, Lloyds, RBS, Scotiabank, Merrill Lynch, Northern Trust, NatWest and BNP Paribas. Cindy transitioned to the Fintech world in 2018, working with Marco Polo / TradeIX and Finteum.

Umazi helps to automate and accelerate enterprise identity verification. It uses distributed ledger technology (DLT) and network effects to create secure digital identities verified by regulated entities that can be shared across organisations, regulatory jurisdictions and function in different languages. 

2. Michael Chen – Nuclera (Series B)

Michael is the Co-founder and CEO of Nuclera, which recently secured  £31.35 million Series B investment from investors including M&G.

Michael has ten years experience in scientific research, from nucleic acid chemistry to protein expression and crystallography, resulting in twelve published papers. 

Nuclera Nucleics is the leading pioneer in making biology accessible through its eProtein™ desktop bioprinting technology. With desktop bioprinting, researchers and scientists will be empowered to take control of biology through streamlined access to a next-day supply of proteins.

3. Michael Gibson – Fuuse (Seed)

Michael is the CEO of Fuuse, which recently secured  £1.7 million Seed investment led by Par Equity.

Michael has constantly innovated, launched new and exciting products and services over the last 25 years. He founded Digital Lancashire and was the Owner of UK Bathroom Store,Fat Media and Five Coats. Michael and Will, both EV drivers, created Miralis to exploit the power of software and data science to reduce carbon emissions in transport, logistics and supply chains.

Miralis Data (t/a Fuuse) is a transport-focused cleantech company with substantial software development and data science capabilities. Fuuse is the operating system for EV chargers and a flexible charge point management platform.
