1. Ben Drury – Yoto (Series A)
Ben is the Co-founder and CEO of Yoto, which recently secured £12 million Series A investment led by Acton Capital.
Ben is a serial entrepreneur and an investor. He began his career as a founder of dotmusic.com and then founded 7digital in 2004. He was named by Growing Business magazine as a Young Gun 2006 – the award for leading entrepreneurs under 35. He and his co-founder felt the need for a device without addictive screens or parental control for their young children and was inspired by Montessori principles which led them to found Yoto.
Yoto is a screen-free audio platform that introduces children to a world of stories, music and educational activities. Yoto Player is a carefully connected speaker – it has the smarts of a connected device, but all the content is safe since the Yoto Card Store has been built for kids.
2. Ismail Jeilani – Scoodle (Seed)
Ismail is the Founder of Scoodle, which recently secured £1.4 million Seed investment from Google, IFG and DA One.
Ismail is an entrepreneur and an educational instructor. He worked at Google in their marketing team. He built Satifs while studying for his degree. With his experience, he co-founded Scoodle – a platform aiming to build educational influencers around the world. He was ranked as one of the ‘top 100 coolest people in tech’ by Business Insider and the top 100 minorities in tech by the Financial Times.
Scoodle an online learning platform allowing students to connect with the best tutors available. Tutors use their profiles to demonstrate their knowledge to students before a booking is made. Tutor profiles showcase answers to questions, learning resources and a newly released video platform. Making it easier for students to select the best tutor for them.
3. Gareth Hewitt – LemonEdge (Seed)
Gareth is the CEO and Co-founder of LemonEdge, which secured £1.77 million Seed investment led by Sidekick Partners.
Gareth is an experienced entrepreneur who founded WhiteSky and co-founded Bridge Fund previously. A technology professional with over 20 years of financial services software experience. His experience with the current legacy system approaches to data integration and complex accounting solidified his belief of a need for a powerful development platform with integrated accounting in financial services, which became LemonEdge.
Blue Water Software t/a LemonEdge is the first and only low-code accounting software built for financial services institutions with integrated multi-currency accounting needs. LemonEdgeCapital is a purpose-built solution designed for private capital firms, providing asset managers and administrators with a modern, smart back-office solution designed for scale and complex transactions.
4. Mark Walsh – KwizzBit (Seed)
Mark is the Founder and CEO of KwizzBit, which secured £250k Seed investment from angel investors including Rob Wilmot.
Mark is an experienced Founder and Commercial Director/CEO with a demonstrated history of working in the events services industry. He is skilled in Sales, Event Management, Account Management, Business-to-Business (B2B), and Marketing. He was the founder of Made Oublishing and Owdoo previously..
