Deal Lite UK Tech Investment Weekly takes place every Monday at 12 pm UK time on Clubhouse, hosted by Manoj Ranaweera of Deal Lite (a product of Techcelerate) with co-hosts, Andrew Threlfall of Malinko (Techcelerate’s largest tech company, which makes scheduling community nursing a walk in the park for the NHS) and Stewart Townsend, a SaaS Channel Specialist who helps Techcelerate Member Companies scale through channel partnerships.

1. Jason Green – HolidayFox (Pre-Seed)

Jason is the CEO and Co-founder of HolidayFox, which recently secured £1.17 million Pre-Seed investment led by Fuel Ventures.

Jason moved to Berlin 10 years ago to start working as CTO at Wimdu (Rocket Internet). He went on to run Product and Tech as CTO at some of the largest tech marketplaces in Europe including Brainly, Dawanda, Wowcher & Living Social and Checkatrade.  After 10 years, Jason and Richard joined to take on their shared passion for camping and founded HolidayFox.

HolidayFox offers a solution; a comprehensive search platform that allows users to find a campsite based on amenities, features, onsite or nearby activities and personal likes. It also enables campsite owners to easily manage their own page on the website.

2. James Pursaill – Plend (Pre-Seed)

James is the Co-founder and CTO of Plend, which recently secured £700K Pre-Seed investment led by Tomahawk and Ascension.

James has experience as a Digital Product Manager for 8+ years. He has worked with HarperCollins and DK Publishers on innovative digital products in education, and delivered a fresh new website build and database projects for the International Institute for Strategic Studies. Rob and Jamie co-founded Plend because they’re passionate about creating a world where everyone has the financial freedom to live their best life.

Plend is the UK’s first social lending marketplace.Plend’s ground-breaking use of Open Banking technology to securely access a person’s bank transaction history gives it a unique understanding of a person’s finances, enabling retail investors to become ‘Lending Heroes’ by lending people directly.

3. Guillaume Kendall – Zedosh (Seed)

Guillaume is the Founder and CEO at Zedosh, which secured £400k Seed investment.

Guillaume has worked nearly two decades in fintech. He worked with financial institutions driving open innovation with a focus on open banking. Leveraging this knowledge, he developed Zedosh. His vision is of a future in which people can have more control and agency – over their finances and over the time they spend online. 

Zedosh is the disruptive new app that rewards consumers for their engagement with advertising with cash payments and offers brands an audience of engaged young people who are hard to reach on other platforms, allowing brands to run hyper-targeted campaigns using banking data which its users have consented to share.

4. Peter Jianrui Liu – Oxford Cancer Analytics (Seed)

Peter is the CEO and Co-founder of Oxford Cancer Analytics, which secured £1.28 million Seed investment from investors including Cancer Research UK and Civilisation Ventures.

Peter worked as an Executive Director at BRIGHT International for 5+ years and was the President of Oxford University Scientific Society. Peter and Andreas, were frustrated by the low rates of early cancer detection in wider patient care and founded Oxford Cancer Analytics in 2019.

Oxford Cancer Analytics has developed DECancer.AI, an artificial intelligence-based platform that can detect the deadliest cancers early to enable curative treatments. Oxford Cancer Analytics hopes to create a paradigm shift in screening and eventually replacing invasive tissue biopsy and expensive, complex imaging as the current standard of care.
