Deal Lite UK Tech Investment Weekly takes place every Monday at 12 pm UK time on Clubhouse, hosted by Manoj Ranaweera of Deal Lite (a product of Techcelerate) with co-hosts, Andrew Threlfall of Malinko (Techcelerate’s largest tech company, which makes scheduling community nursing a walk in the park for the NHS) and Stewart Townsend, a SaaS Channel Specialist who helps Techcelerate Member Companies scale through channel partnerships.

1. Donald Gillies – PassFort (Series A)

Donald is the CEO and Co-founder of PassFort, which recently secured £11.7 million Series A investment led by Level Equity.

Donald began his career in financial services in private equity. Working with portfolio companies following investment, Donald developed a strong interest in how technology would shape the digital economy. Donald was recognised by both the UK Centre for Entrepreneurs and Entrepreneurial Scotland as one of the UK’s leaders of the future. 

PassFort is a SaaS RegTech provider whose platform automates financial crime and compliance processes. PassFort’s solutions are designed for the digital economy: hardware-free, affordable, flexible to configure and easy to use, with constant feature innovation and a choice of deployment options.

2. Alex Ramamurthy – Mirthy (Pre-Seed)

Alex is the Founder and CEO of Mirthy, which recently secured £800k Pre-Seed investment led by Ascension’s Fair By Design fund.

Alex worked in Business Development for 6+ years before he founded VolunteerReady in 2017. He was the CEO of The Care Workers Charity and has been the Chairman of Care Innovation Hub since 2017. Growing increasingly worried about the effects of social isolation on the older generation, Alex and Dhruv set up Mirthy in 2019.

Mirthy is a digital platform for over-60s offering events and a community to make new friends. Mirthy’s ultimate goal is to be the go-to platform for all of over-60’s social, physical and financial needs. 

3. Ingmar Klein – Huzzle (Pre-Seed)

Ingmar is the Co-founder and CEO at Huzzle, which secured £218k Pre-Seed investment from 10x Founders.

Ingmar started his career as a consultant at UnicornPitch and has consulted over 50 startups and corporates. He was also a Managing Partner at Young & Digital. 

Huzzle is a career management tool and a community for students and companies to find most suitable career opportunities. Features include highly targeted, iterative opportunities for freshers to graduates; a standardised online home for university career societies; companies ranking by benefits, applicant prequalification; career mentors; application progress-tracking and data on typical student career paths. 

4. Mark Hartley – BankiFi (Seed Follow On)

Mark is the CEO and Founder of BankiFi, which secured £2.2 million Seed Follow On investment led by Praetura Ventures.

Mark has held a wide range of General Management, Sales, Innovation and Strategy roles in the Technology industry for the financial services segment since the early 90’s in the APAC region and Europe, most recently at Clear2Pay and FIS. He served as strategic Advisor to the Board of Nationwide Building Society.
